This catchy song about the Solar System was played since day one of the unit right through to the end. The children absolutely LOVED it! It brought in that fantastic musical element to learning, where the children could learn some facts off by heart through song. We even had some epic rap battles to the song :) Storybots also have Youtube clips for the Moon, Sun, Earth and Stars! Youtube is just such an amazing resource.
The link for the clip is below, as well of a snippet of how it looks!

Hello! I'm writing this blog to share the amazing 3rd year practicum experience I had this year with Years 3 and 4 students. In particular I'll be focusing on my Space unit which I did, and how I managed to make plenty of cross-curricular links, whilst making learning fun for the kids! :)

My space adventures in the classroom
Hello all!
So I’m
writing this blog based on the wonderful journey I went through on my 8 week
long final teaching practicum with 6-8 year olds.
In
particular there was one aspect of my teaching that I thought was insanely fun
for both myself and my students, and that was learning about the solar system.
I will be posting up a bunch of things that I did, as well as referring to the
people whose ideas I borrowed. I will also be sharing some of the cross
curricular links that I was able to make with this subject- which is always a
bonus! ;)
I hope that you can use some of these ideas in the classroom, because it will save you a LOT of time not having to search all over the place.
